Hi students. We're right in the middle of Symposium Season (or closer to the end of it, and we would really appreciate it if you could take a few more surveys online!) Thanks!

CLICK HERE to access the Poetic Devices Packet that we reviewed and annotated in class. Be sure to fill in the definitions and example on your pink POETRY UNIT Packets. You will need these definitions as you start to analyze your own poems with your group members. Thank you. PERIOD 1-2 and 3-4 have already completed page 18 - symbolism notes as a class. Therefore, if you are in 1-2 or 3-4, you do not have to work on page 18. You only have to work on the map whereas period 5-6 has to complete both the map and the symbolism notes on page 18. These will be checked tomorrow, Thursday, February 18th, 2016.
Hi students! Here are the notes from our discussion on Tuesday. Somehow, I forgot to take a picture for period 3-4, but it's okay. Here are the pictures for periods 1-2 and 5-6. These notes go in your Emerald Journals (page 12).
Here are the photos of the collaborative timeline you worked on today! I have also included all of the events typed out below, so you don't have to squint at the images. Your timeline (pages 2-3 in your journals) is due tomorrow. Please remember that you must turn in your Populist Parable Assignment on Canvas by 9pm tonight. The google doc must be filled out completely. We will go over the answers in class tomorrow. Have a great day! 1880 (still the 19th century!)
As you look at this momentous photograph, I want you to focus on the people in the audience who were able to witness a historical event and leave inspired to promote positive change in their world. What communities, neighborhoods, schools, churches, and cities will these people impact? Today, we watched MLK's speech during class and we took collaborative Cornell Notes on google docs (with our groups). As you enjoy your three-day weekend, I want you to think about that Essential Question that was at the top of your Cornell Notes. How does Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s message resonate with us today? What or who should we serve, fight for, or give a voice to TODAY? Let's be people who impact, act, improve, speak, change, and DO.
